Fireclay box glazed with pine wood ash. The lid's knob is a quartz stone collected from a Costa Brava  beach. It was fired with shells on the lid's base and one in its interior, hence, leaving the marks on the clay. Fired in a reducing atmosphere to 1290ºC for 10 hours in a manual gas kiln. Handbuilt with the kurinuki technique.

Even though this piece is food, dishwasher and microwave safe, you should take special care of it if you want to keep it for a longer time. Wash by hand all pieces if possible and avoid leaving liquid in them for a long period of time. Crackle glazed pieces will stain over time due to the use of highly coloured liquids, so please avoid using strongly staining foods/liquids. Also, it is preferable to avoid sudden temperature changes, so it is better to let the boiling water settle before pouring it into the cup.
